Ruby red with violet reflections. Promising nose of ripe red berries, pepper, with grilled notes. Fruity and a bit spicey. Full bodied and well balanced. Fine tannins. Liquorice in the finish.
Plan de Dieu, god's valley, was recognized in 1937 as AOC Côtes du Rhône and in 1983 as AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages. In 2004 it was reconginzed as AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu.
The vinyard "Bois des Dames" is one of the oldest vineyards in the Plan de Dieu region. The area's name references if kilometer long and wide flat topography, that lies in the sun. The name Bois des Dames, woman's forrest, is in memory of the Kloster that was located on this area and the nuns who would take walks in the forrest.
