Alsace once belonged to Germany, but the wine making techniques have always been french. The Alsace is an area of France where very little rain falls. To put this into perspective, Toulon in the south of France receives more rainfall than the Alsace. The lack of rain ensures that the grapes are allowed to mature properly.
Domaine Pierre Koch and sons is a family run winery, which has over 14 hectares. Their land is divided amongst the most noble wine hills, like Zellberg or Heissenberg.
